EYEMOUTH lifeboat was called out on Tuesday to assist the 18m trawler Bright Ray.
The call was made around 11.40am as the trawler was being towed back to harbour by fellow trawler Stronsay Lad, after it suffered a fouled propellor.
The lifeboat was quickly on scene, five miles to the north of Eyemouth and transferred the tow of the Leith registered vessel, which had three crew on board, from the Stronsay Lad. The Stronsay Lad then acted as a brake to the tow.
Due to the state of the tide, the lifeboat had to hold station until sufficient water was available and all three vessels were safely alongside by 3pm.
