Eyemouth lifeboat aids trawler

Eyemouth RNLI Lifeboat was called out at 2pm on Saturday, October 29, after the 11 metre trawler, Boy Andrew, contacted Forth Coastguard to request assistance as it had suffered steering gear failure.

The Leith registered trawler, with two crew on board, was returning from a fishing trip and was heading back to Eyemouth when its steering failed.

The lifeboat was on scene in 20 minutes and passed a tow line to the prawn trawler which as towed to Eyemouth, arriving back at 3.20pm.
