Eyemouth and District Community Trust held their third 50/50 charity event with funds raised being split between the charity RoadPeace’s campaign ‘See Me, Save Me’ and buying a defibrillator for the town.
The Eyemouth Golf Club, Bayview Restaurant, was the venue for a charity auction and buffet, with live music provided by Nicola Salonsky, Brian Cockburn, with Marie and Anna Tucker. Thanks to them the evening went with a ‘swing’!
Douglas Stewart, of The Tavern, Eyemouth, was auctioneer for the evening and kept up the momentum of bidding with lively banter.
The amount raised through the auction, tickets, tombola and donations was £3,000 and the trust would like to thank all those, who generously gave of their time, donations and efforts to make the evening such a success.
The bike, which was decorated by the Eyemouth Yarn Bombers, to advertise the event, is now going ‘on tour’ to raise funds for other causes, look out for it in your area!
The two previous fundraisers were for Cancer Research and Brain Tumour Research. The trust would welcome anyone who is interested in helping with the organisation of these fundraising events - or if you have a charity you would like to raise funds for and would like the trust to help - please contact them at eyemouthcommunitytrust.co.uk.
