The Rotary Club of Duns has appointed their new president.

He is Eric Bridgewater who takes over the role from retiring president Bob Tait.

The picture above shows the immediate past president handing over to new president Eric at last week’s meeting held in the White Swan Hotel, Duns. Eric also handed the senior vice-presidency over to David McLuckie.

The Duns Rotary Club has also announced the winner of this year’s Duns Citizen of The Year Award.

The winner is Billy O’Brien, who has worked tirelessly for many years on a variety of projects and is always at the heart of a fund-raising effort. He is the epitome of what it means to support your community and is often seen driving the “support vehicle” – his red Shogun. He is a worthy winner.

There were many other nominations, all of whom were carefully considered and all could have been winners but unfortunately there can be only one winner.

Thanks go to all those who took the trouble to fill in nomination forms for the Citizen of the Year.
