DUNS Community Council are hosting a meeting next week to find out what residents want to be achieved in the town in the next eight years.
The plan of action to be known as ‘Duns 2020 Vision’ will pinpoint what the people of Duns want; what the town needs and how to get it in relation to a number of areas including leisure, youth, elderly, industry, education and tourism.
Although the community council will take leadership of the scheme they are keen to get input from as many people in the town as they can and are inviting people to come along to a meeting at Duns Volunteer Hall on Tuesday, July 31, at 7.30pm.
Community Council chair, Andrew Mitchell commented: “It looks like, going forward, that the town will have to lead itself and although we haven’t got any plans set in stone as yet we want to devise a master plan for the town for the next eight years and decide how best to implement it.
“We want to hear what ideas people have for projects in the town or what areas they would like to see improved.”
