Members of the public can have their say on plans to create an extensive 20 miles per hour area in Dunbar at a public meeting during the town’s Civic Week.
The town’s community council has been discussing the idea of introducing a widespread reduction in speed limit in the town for more than a year.
Now, on June 21, the idea will be opened out to members of the public, who will determine whether the scheme goes any further at a public meeting.
Herbert Coutts, community councillor, first raised the idea, with a view to Dunbar following in the footsteps of Edinburgh.
At the community council’s last meeting, Mr Coutts told members a questionnaire was circulated at a Dunbar and East Linton Area Partnership (DELAP) meeting, asking people for their views on making a large section of Dunbar a 20 miles per hour town.
