THREE pupils from Dunbar Grammar School set their sights on pole position after reaching the British Schools Karting Championship National Final at Daytona, Milton Keynes, on Sunday.
Josh Knox (16), Ryan Smith (16) and Hannah Chapman (17) qualified after coming second to the currert GB champions Hutchesons’ Grammar School at the Scottish finals where they were beaten by a whisker.
They came 16th in the British final in which 32 teams competed. Hutchesons’ Grammar was third. The championship attracted 1,450 pupils and students from 450 schools and colleges.
