Dunbar Council discusses break-ins

Dunbar Community Council has heard of a recent spate of thefts in the town.

At the Council’s October meeting, councillors were informed by police of three separate incidents.

At about 11.30 on September 21, an attempt was made to break in to a house in Friarscroft. At 3am on October 14 a theft by housebreaking occurred at the Looks store on Summerfield Road. A window was smashed, persons entered and the cash till was stolen. On the same night, ‘Smuggler’s Cave’ at 33 the High Street was broken into by similar means and various items were stolen. Enquiries are ongoing into these incidents.

The Community Council has also responded to their Costs and Priorities Programme (CAPP). Inconsiderate parking, poor driving on rural roads and anti-social behaviour in vennels off the High Street were the topics submitted for most urgent attention.
