Disruption for pupils as cold snap continues

WITH parts of Berwickshire more badly affected by the snow than others, a number of schools have fallen victim to the weather.

Chirnside, Swinton and Eccles/Leitholm primaries are all closed while Coldstream Primary only opened it doors to children in P5-7 this morning.

There was a similar situation at Reston with classes only on for pupils in P6 and P7.

Both Berwickshire High and Eyemouth High schools are only open to pupils in S1-3, with S4-6 been told to study from home.

All other schools in the area are open as normal although Scottish Borders Council are advising parents to keep checking their website and Twitter and listen to Radio Borders for any updates on early hometimes.

The council announced this morning that all school transport was cancelled for the day and only pupils who lived in walking distance from their schools should make the journey in.
