Dunbar, with its striking coastline, stunning countryside and its historic attractive high street is renowned for many favourite things – not least its love of music.
The town evokes strong emotions and Dunbar Trades’ Association (DTA) has worked really hard at keeping its heritage, its high street and its community spirit alive and kicking.
Steven Hill, DTA chair, said: “Working together for the benefit of the community’ is very rewarding and this latest DTA initiative, hot on the heels of the very first Dunbar Street Art Trail brings together the ‘sounds of Dunbar’ in the form of a CD – Discover Dunbar Buskers which has just been released and features four distinctive and unique musical talents.
“The DTA have committed to producing a Busker CD annually as a way of raising funds for local musicians to help them further their musical careers and thank them for their contribution to the ambience of our wonderful wee town. This initiative will hopefully create a new wave of buskers delighting the many visitors the the high street.
“Not only does the CD help to promote the town, fund the artists and bring great music to people it is also a great way shops can play music without the need for the expensive music licenses.”
The CD features Erin Mitchell, Graham Cairns, Barnstorm (Carol Dubber, Kenny Borthwick, Alan Bradd and Chris Dubber) and Wesley Bradd and can be purchased online (http://www.dunbar.org.uk/dunbar-buskers-cd/) for £13 or bought from the participating outlets in Dunbar for £10.
