Cyclists are being reminded that they have less than two weeks to sign up for the cross-border Wooler Wheel Borderlands cycle sportive.
The 170km route, the first in the inaugural Wooler Wheel Triad challenge, takes in a number of sections of what will make up the Friends Life Tour of Britain stage in September. Other, shorter routes are available, and there is a junior sportive.
Beth Mills of Wooler Cycle Hub said: “The Borderlands is a great opportunity to kick start the sportive season and also has accessible rides for those wanting to take their first pedal turns in the sportive world, or enjoy a wonderful ride through incredible countryside.
“The closing date for entries is Sunday, May 3 so it is important riders don’t leave their entry until the last minute.”
Entries for events in 2015 are open via the British Cycling website, and more details can be found at www.woolerwheel.com
