Alan Gibson, of Langtonmill Farm Cottages, near Duns, pleaded guilty to seizing hold of his partner of eight years by the arm and pushing her onto a sofa to her injury at home.
The assault took place on April 26.
In addition to being fined, he was ordered to pay a £10 victim surcharge.
