Reston Concert Band put on a show in Coldingham on Friday August 7, to raise funds for the campaign to keep an RNLI lifeboat station in St Abbs.
The show raised £300 for the campaign, which continues to go from strength to strength despite the date set by the charity for the station’s closure, September 8, moving rapidly nearer.
The online change.org petition to keep an RNLI presence in the village that it has served for over 100 years is continuing to grow. Nearly 6,000 people have now signed, and many more have put their names to paper copies of the petition. Meanwhile, t-shirts with the campaign logo continue to pop up in protestors’ holiday snaps, as far afield as Australia and Disneyland.
