Around 30 lucky ladies who snapped up tickets arrived at Gunsgreen House recently for an evening of luxurious entertainment.

Brought into the ambient setting of the drawing room, they were given a selction of indulgent beauty treatments to choose from, including massages, nails, hand and foot treatments and facials. Picking one, they all scheduled to have their treatment at some point throughout the night.

Following this, Alan Walker, owner and head mixolgist of The Cocktail Experience gave a welcome introduction, before declaring the bar open. A rainbow of cocktails were freshly made and laid out, from the frothy yellows of the pina coladas to the smooth violet shade of the Purple Haze’s their was a cocktail for every taste.

Dotted inbetween were the pinks, reds and greens of the Gin Sins, Appletini’s and Cosmopolitans, as well as the chance for the guests to sample a ‘Taste of Paradise’.

Following much buzzing chat, and ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ over the various canapes on offer, the room was brought to attention for a Cocktail Masterclass, during which Alan revealed the signature Gunsgreen House cocktail, a vivid green blend of Gin (notoriously smuggled into the house in the 1700’s) with Midori, Vodka and Sugar Syrup. The ladies then were given the chance to design and make their own drinks.

The room was full of admiration for Alan and his professionally qualified and friendly staff, who were on hand to offer tips and trade secrets to avid cocktail fans. Jessica Watson and her team of beauticians made sure the guests were pampered and relaxed, with a few nearly falling into a sublime sleep on the massage table!

All in all, both the staff of Gunsgreen House and The Cocktail Experience were thrilled with how the night went, and can announce that the next party will be on Saturday, March 17, 7-11pm (just in time for Mothers’ Day).
