The p7 class at Cockburnspath Primary School were presented with their John Muir Discovery Award certificates after spending two terms discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing their local woods and Dunglass beach over the last two terms.
The project has seen them carrying out various environmental activities and really exploring what lives around them.
They have carried out a litter clear up and created a French drain on one of the paths down to Dunglass beach to improve drainage and helped cut back buckthorn to open up one of the paths leading to the beach .
The project has been a huge success and enabled the class to really explore their local environment while having lots of fun. They shared all they had learnt with family and friends at school in a superb presentation and were presented with their John Muir Discovery Award certificates to mark the completion of their award.
