Cockburnspath nursery raising funds for new equipment

THE children at Cockburnspath Nursery hope to be choosing some new equipment shortly, following generous contributions from both local businesses and parents to a fundraising Silent Auction to be held in Cockburnspath Village Hall on Saturday, February 27, at 7.30pm.

Bids for auction lots, which include: a family ticket to the Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick; a portrait sitting and prints from Fineart Images Gallery, Eyemouth; a beauty pack from Beauty by KJ Brown, Innerwick; three months membership to Steamy Dreamy Caf, Dunbar; a physiotherapy session at Resolution Physiotherapy, East Linton; a haircut voucher for Head Lengths, Haddington; in addition to handmade jewellery, a bespoke celebration cake, a cycle overhaul, a full financial review, an evening babysitting and a tray of seedlings; can be made in advance by contacting the nursery, or on the night of the event.

"We are very excited by the prospect of one of our biggest fundraising events of the year, and we are very appreciative to all the local business and parents who have contributed to a varied selection of prizes," said Wendy Smith, chair of the Cockburnspath Nursery Parents' Committee.

"We believe we really have something for everyone, and we hope to have a big turnout on the night."

Entry to the auction will be free, and the evening will also include cheese and wine and a raffle.
