Churches raise £1,000 for East Africa food crisis appeal

Duns and District Parishes have taken a local lead in raising funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee's East Africa food crisis appeal, and a Sunday soup lunch, coffee morning and private donations have raised £1,000. Drought and conflict have left 16 million people on the brink of starvation and in urgent need of food, water and medical treatment in South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
