Three Eyemouth hairdressers will swap hairdryers for hard hats when they take on an adrenaline fuelled zipslide in aid of NSPCC.
Tracey Penman, Fiona Lough and Kerri Daly from local hairdressing salon Wynd and Wave, will take part in a 260m long zipslide at the Falkirk Wheel on Sunday, August 21. The Zipslide will go right through the structure of the wheel.
Tracey, said: “We are all definitely looking forward to doing this zipslide! We can’t wait for the big day although I’m unsure how I will feel when it comes to looking over the edge before we do it.
“We all have kids of our own and think that the NSPCC is a great cause. It’s a great way to help the charity and meet lots of like minded people who like to help whenever they can, with the added bonus of an adrenaline rush.”
Susie Barron, NSPCC Scotland community fundraising manager, said: “It is great that the ladies from Wynd and Wave have signed up for the zipslide and we hope other people in Eyemouth will be encouraged to give it a shot too!
“By raising sponsorship to take part, they will be helping the NSPCC in Scotland carry on its vital work with children and young people. This includes supporting children through ChildLine – the 24 hour helpline for children and young people.”
People have already signed up to brave the zipslide but there are still spaces available for anyone else who wants to test their nerve. To take part, people are asked to pay £30 and raise a minimum sponsorship of £100. To sign up contact 0844 892 0212 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
