Completing the 54 mile Caledonian Challenge looks to be just the start of the challenges Moira Anderson intends taking on.

Fresh from completing the challenge in 22 hours 56 minutes and 44 seconds, as part of a team of four women called the Walkie Talkies (Jacqueline Whitelaw, Pamela Harding and Lynn Medley), Moira has got the bit between her teeth and plans “to do plenty challenges during 2017 to celebrate being ‘auld’” as she turns 60.

After setting off from Gairlochy, by the time the team reached check point two they were down to three members as one had to retire due to injury.

“It has been an unforgettable experience, a great test of endurance and fitness levels,” said Moira.

“There were breathtaking views all along the course making the long uphill hikes very worthwhile. I would urge anyone to give it a try next year as the memories will last for a life time.”

Moira admits that the many months of training and preparation paid off and not only does she want to do it again she hopes to improve her course time.

Moira would like to thank the many people who made donations to her and her team for the charity Foundation Scotland.
