Congratulations are due to local man Gareth Greenwood who travelled to the Guildhall in London recently to be admitted as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Gareth, (32), has completed this examination success whilst employed by Chartered Accountants J.H. Greenwood and Company, in Castle Terrace, Berwick, where he has worked for the past eight and a half years.
“This is the highest taxation qualification in the UK”, said Gareth. “This now means I am a Chartered Tax Advisor allowing me to use this specialist tax knowledge across a range of business and personal situations and add to the expertise already available to our clients.”
Tax Partner at the firm, Mark McLeman, added: “At J.H. Greenwood and Company we place great emphasis on training and it is very rewarding to see students such as Gareth reach his goal and be admitted as a member of this prestigious professional body.”
Like his father Jim, Gareth is a member of Berwick Rugby Club and enjoys keeping fit with Norham Running Club and Ava Lodge Harriers.
