Businesses throughout the Borders celebrated the launch of the 2015 Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Awards last Thursday.
The launch event provided an opportunity for businesses to learn more about VIBES, and see if they have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of previous local winners.
Held in partnership with the Borders branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the event attracted support from a variety of local businesses spanning a range of sectors including energy, agriculture, hospitality and construction.
Gillian Bruce, chair of the VIBES Awards, said: “The launch event in the Scottish Borders was a great success, and we were pleased to welcome so many local businesses looking to find out more about VIBES. Borders businesses have achieved a lot of success at the VIBES Awards in previous years, and we hope more local businesses will enter this year to be in with a chance of receiving recognition for their sustainable practices.”
Open to businesses of all sizes and sectors, VIBES aims to encourage efficient use of resources, enhance business competitiveness, improve environmental performance and support wider sustainable development goals. The deadline for entries to this year’s awards is 5pm on Monday, July 13. For more information visit www.vibes.org.uk.
