Coldstream venue for ploughing event

The Scottish Ploughing Championships are returning to the Borders for their 50th match after a very successful event incorporating the European Vintage Ploughing Championships in 2010 at Upper Nisbet, Jedburgh.

The event being held at Coldstream Mains and Lennel Estate, Coldstream, on October 27/28, offers classes for horse, vintage and modern ploughing, as well as trade stands and a vintage machinery display.

In 2012 the Scottish Ploughing Championships will host the inaugural Six Nations Classic and Vintage Ploughing Championships. Competitors and spectators are expected from Scotland, England, the Isle of Man, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Over 150 competitors and 2,000 visitors are expected and accommodation in and around Coldstream will be required for ploughers, friends, family and supporters.
