Berwick Town Council is close to reaching 100 registrations for its 2017 Berwick Investors Conference.
Well over half those attending are from businesses in Berwick and north Northumberland, and Scotland is well represented again with delegates coming from the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
There is strong representation from Scottish Borders Council economic development team, as well as Alnwick Town Council and three registrations from overseas.
Event organiser, Eric Goodyer, said: “This turnout proves that Berwick is the bridge between Scotland and England.
“We are attracting inward investment, which is resulting in more employers filling up our industrial estates, creating new jobs and opportunities.”
Councillor Stuart Bell, executive member for economic development at Scottish Borders Council, said: “Regardless of national boundaries and lines on a map, Berwick is integrally related to the Scottish Borders. A thriving Berwick town needs the Scottish Borders and vice-versa.”
