Borders set to join war against litter

More than 1,700 environmentalists in the Borders have signed up to take part in Keep Scotland Beautiful’s anti-litter National Spring Clean campaign.

But the charity would like that number to reach 200,000 across Scotland before the end of May.

With less than a month to go, Keep Scotland Beautiful – Scotland’s leading environmental charity - is urging people living in the Borders to stand up and join in the war against litter.

Derek Robertson, chief executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful said: “Over 80,000 have already signed up and set an example for the rest of Scotland to follow - taking responsibility for an important resource which is enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Keep Scotland Beautiful would like to thank all involved in this tremendous effort, and encourage everyone to do their bit to clean up their favourite part of Scotland”.
