The Borders branch of the Scottish Green Party has selected local campaigner Pauline Stewart as the party’s candidate for the Westminster election in May.
Pauline (45) lives in Longformacus, Duns with her partner Derek and children Freja, Iona and Angus.
Originally from the Highlands, Pauline previously lived in Edinburgh where she worked as a Medical Herbalist for Napiers Dispensary and Thuja Organic Health & Beauty Clinics.
Pauline said: “Everyone accepts the next Westminster election will be like no other. Everything’s up for grabs and I have an extraordinary opportunity to get across Green ideas about creating jobs, improving wages and protecting public services.
“I’m grateful to other local members of the Scottish Greens for selecting me.
“Scottish Greens are seeing a surge in membership, a rise in the polls and are mounting much-needed opposition on issues such as austerity and fracking.”
