Around 3000 people are needed for the ceremonies at Celtic Park and Hampden which will be seen live by audiences of over 40,000 and millions of television viewers across the world.

Applications are open to anyone over the age of 18 by March 1, 2014, keen to take part in the opening and closing ceremonies; but you need to get your application in by Friday, February 14.

Borders MP, Michael Moore, said: “The opening and closing ceremonies of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will be a moment for Scotland to get exposure to an international audience.
