A boat and trailer were stolen from Dunbar Sea Cadets sometime between 9.30pm on Tuesday, July 12 and Thursday, July 14.
The boat, which has an onboard motor, was described by Inspector Alan Hogarth, based in Haddington police station as being worth “a four-figure sum”.
He added: “The Sea Cadets do a tremendous amount of good work for the local community and I can assure them that we will do all we can to recover their property and arrest those responsible. Local officers are now carrying out various lines of inquiry in an effort to trace those responsible and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
“I urge anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour including the presence of unknown vehicles in the area to come forward immediately.”
