Volunteers from GirlGuiding Berwickshire recently attended The Volunteer Centre Borders Award Ceremony which this year was held in the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels.

The Senior Section is aimed at members of GirlGuiding aged 14-25. As part of this, the young women offer a service to their community.

Many of the young women in Berwickshire volunteer within GirlGuiding being a Young Leader with Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units.

This year the young women have also volunteered with HYPPE, local swimming, tennis and badminton groups, some doing both!

Leader Amanda Aitken said: “I cannot stress how amazing it is to see these young women giving up so many hours of their time. They show a real commitment to the organisation and will be the Leaders of the future.”

The Volunteering Awards are divided into two categories - YouVol for under 16’s and MV Awards for ages 16-25.
