A MARKETING campaign credited with establishing Belhaven Best as Scotland’s number one draught ale has triumphed at the Scottish Business Awards.
Belhaven’s five-year ‘Scotland’s Best’ campaign carried off the Marketing Strategy of the Year prize during an awards ceremony hosted by TV personality Angus Deayton and Sir Bob Geldof at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Receiving the award on behalf of all his colleagues at the Greene King-owned Belhaven Brewery at Dunbar, Euan Venters, Managing Director Greene King Brewing and Brands, said: “This award is a fantastic boost for everyone at Belhaven, and serves as deserved recognition for all the hard work everybody at the brewery has put into making Belhaven Best, Scotland’s Best. I am proud to work with such a high-achieving team.”
The award comes just a month after Belhaven successfully launched Belhaven Black – a genuinely Scottish stout made from pure Scottish water and locally-grown hops, which it hopes will ignite the UK stout market.
The awards were judged by a panel of leading Scottish business brains including Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne OBE.
Belhaven’s award was presented by Michelle Mone – one of the UK’s most successful female entrepreneurs and founder of international lingerie brand Ultimo.
