BEG sets its sights on Cuba

The Borders Exploration Group, which has been organising expeditions for young people of the Borders for 20 years, have chosen Cuba as the venue for the 2012 expedition.

A typical expedition involves a voluntary project - living and working alongside a community; the chance to experience the culture, explore the country and undertake adventure activities, as well as environmental projects.

If this appeals to you, either as a venturer or leader, then there will be opportunities in the next few weeks to find out more.

Information evenings for potential leaders are on Wednesday, March 2, in Selkirk High School and on Tuesday, March 8, in Kelso High School, both at 7.30pm. Young people, between the ages of 16 and 25, who wish to apply to be part of the expedition can attend an information evening on Tuesday, March 29, in Kelso High School at 7.30pm. Parents are welcome.
