Eighteen year old Natasha Blackmore, who works at Border Eggs in Hutton, received an email a few weeks ago from the team behind Uber Girl, a competiton which covers all four corners of the UK.

Natasha was spotted by Uber Girl after creating a profile on Net Portfolio, a site full of budding models hoping to catch the eye of those involved with the modelling industry.

She only uploaded this last month so she was slightly taken aback when Uber Girl made contact with her.

Talking to 'The Berwickshire News' earlier this week she said; "It was a surprise, but definitely a good one.

"I'd only had my profile up for a few weeks before Uber Girl got in touch so I wasn't expecting it.

"Since they sent the email I've done a bit of research into the competition and it seems like a really good one to enter with a good reputation.

"The eventual winner gets a 10,000 cash prize, a trip to Malawi, a modelling contract and the chance to appear on a reality TV show so it sounds like it's worth it."

But before she can start setting her sights on photo shoots and the possibility of being seen on the small screen, Natasha first has to beat off other hopefuls to win the Borders title, before being pitted against other winners from Dumfries and Ayrshire to be named best in South Scotland.

If succesful she will then be up for the public vote with all of Scotland's regional winners to decide who will be Uber Girl Scotland 2010 and go on to represent the country against its UK counterparts.

And that's where you come in, the Uber Girl team have encouraged Natasha to try and get as much local support as possible, so she got in touch with us to spread the word.

Your vote will definitely not be a wasted one as Natasha harbours some serious ambitions to make modelling a full time career.

She continued: "Since setting up my profile on Net Portfoilo I've done some work for NTO Promotions.

"So far this has involved handing out leaflets in Berwick but I've not been registered too long so I'm hoping that this will lead to some more interesting jobs.

"With entering Uber Girl, I've started to think about making modelling a more permanent thing.

"I've been keen to do some modelling since I was 13 as I've always had the height. Some of my family and friends encouraged me to start sending photos to companies and I thought why not?

"I realise that living where I do there isn't going to to be the same amount of work available as there would be if I lived in one of the big cities so I would be prepared to move.

"It just depends on whether things take off or not."

To help Natasha on her modelling quest cast your vote by visiting http://ubergirl.co.uk/application/index.php?option=com_community&view=profile&userid=980&Itemid=3 or got to www.ubergirl.co.uk, click on 'search name' and enter Natasha Blackmore.

Natasha's campaign would get a boost to the tune of 400 votes should she recruit a personal sponsor.

The interested individual or business would need to pay Uber Girl 150 and their logo and link to their website will then appear on Natasha's profile.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor get in touch with Natasha via her Uber Girl.
