A recruitment drive with a difference will take place at Thirlestane Castle, Lauder on
Saturday April 18.
In line with the Borders Vintage Automobile Club’s (BVAC) Back to the Future theme for their motoring extravaganza this year, a panel will be casting for lookalikes for characters from the films to help out with the show.
“We’re looking for convincing Doc Brown and Marty McFly impersonators to help out with this year’s show on Sunday, June 7 at Thirlestane, supporting two professional actors from the Hearts & Mind’s Clown Doctors who will showing off the star of the show, a wonderful DeLorean car, a replica of the one featured in the film,” said show chairperson, Fred Magill.
“Anyone over 16 may apply and BVAC can offer payment for the adventure to successful applicants.
We are expecting them to turn up in lookalike costumes to line up for audition at Thirlestane. The characters will be expected to have a good knowledge of the films.”
If you want to appear at the show please send a photo and up to 250 words why you would make a great Doc or Marty by Sunday 12 April to Gilly Swan at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07796 021427 for more information.
Fred continued: “It’s going to be a cracking event this year and we’ll welcome the help of these characters on what is always a busy day. We’re expecting to exceed 1000 vehicles.”
