John Lamont MSP has lent his support to Borders College’s anti-homophobia in sport campaign, ‘Time for Action’.
The exhibition, part of the celebrations of LGBT History Month, aims to raise awareness about equality and diversity, as well as combat homophobia in sport.
The project was brought to the college by Lindsay England, founder of the Just A Ball Game? initiative.
John Lamont MSP said: “I was delighted to attend this thought provoking display put on by Borders College.
“In this day and age, any form of discrimination in sport is unacceptable and there is no place for homophobia in our society. The exhibition really highlighted the issues faced by LGBT people in sport and included some excellent role models for the younger generation to aspire to and I have no doubt it made a real impact on everyone who saw it.”
