Police seized approximately £10,000 worth of herbal cannabis from a vehicle that was stopped on the A1 at Reston on Wednesday.
Local officers stopped the vehicle, which was travelling northbound, and discovered the drugs within the boot.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the seizure, which happened around 4am ,and was due to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Inspector Mike Wynne, from the Lothians and Scottish Borders Division of Police Scotland, said: “Police Scotland is committed to keeping people safe, and this includes removing drugs from the streets of our communities, and bringing those responsible for their supply to justice.
“Yesterday’s seizure came about through the kind of routine road check that happens on a daily basis across Scotland’s roads, and demonstrates the value of such activity, not only in enforcing road traffic legislation, but also in disrupting the activities of serious and organised criminals.”
