Piper Malcolm Brown-Scott, of Coldstream won a competition to compose a tune marking the Diamond Jubilee of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association in May 1990.

He topped the list of 111 entrants from around the world, which brought him a cheque for £250. Malcolm’s tune, a four-part march in 6/8 time, was played at the a special Jubilee celebration at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow.

Malcolm was a bandsman of the 1st Coldstream Coy BB Pipe Band, as well as playing with Eyemouth Pipe Band and Berwick (RBPL) Pipe Band where his father Alastair was Pipe Major.
