Over 60,000 vaccinated in the Borders
More than 61,500 people in the Borders have received their first covid jab, with a further 17,500 in the region now fully vaccinated.
NHS Borders is currently vaccinating those aged 50-59 years old and unpaid carers.
Unpaid carers under 30 due to get their vaccination will be contacted in the coming days to arrange an alternative appointment to receive another vaccine following a recent change in guidance over use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine for those under 30.
An NHS spokesperson said: “It is really important that you come forward to get your second dose when it is your turn to ensure that you have lasting protection against Covid-19.”
