A day passes without any COVID-19 deaths in the Borders

The latest update on the coronavirus from NHS Borders brought a little piece of welcome news as it was revealed that Monday passed without any further deaths in the area.

That means that across the Borders, the number of people who have sadly died after testing positive for COVID-19 remains at 26.

There are currently 42 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 being treated in hospitals across the Borders, with a further 15 suspected and awaiting test results.

Of these, six patients are being treated in ITU.

There have been 26 patients who have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
