No prior board membership experience is required. Training and mentoring is available and an induction programme is provided to new members.

In addition, the Board is especially keen to hear from a diverse range of people who are currently under represented on the Boards of public bodies across Scotland.

A spokesperson for the college said: “We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to providing the best possible learning experience, and who can represent the interests of the Borders economy and communities.

“If you have experience of health and social care, accounting, finance and audit or rural heritage and tourism we would particularly like to hear from you.

“However, we also welcome applications from those with experience of the key sectors across the Borders economy as well as the broader needs of the education, public, private and third sectors in the region, and individuals with knowledge of business operations and governance.”

Please note these roles are not remunerated, and the closing date for applications is 5pm on Tuesday, September 29.
