The Union now fears that there will be no further assessment committees later in the year and that would be a huge disappointment to those considering capital investment projects (Axis 1) for 2011. If confirmed, that timetable will be also be a blow to any farmers within Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs) who may still require support to meet rules on slurry storage by the end of the year.
Rural Priorities timetable
NFU Scotland has expressed concern following confirmation that the next round of committee meetings to discuss applications to the Rural Priorities scheme will take place in September 2011, and will only consider applications for environmental (or Axis 2) projects.
