Alan said: “David Cochrane (Duns) Ltd were a reputable business in the metal recycling industry for over 40 years in the Scottish Borders and when it became apparent they were ceasing trading I felt it was a good opportunity to continue and provide a metal recycling opportunity in Duns.

“This sector has seen continual growth during recent recession years. The metal recycling industry has a large contribution to make to the future, a lot of people do not realise how much the industry contributes significantly to conserving natural resources. Over 400 million tonnes of scrap metal is recycled in the UK every year, helping to protect the environment and saving energy.

“During the first 12 months the company has built up a reputable customer base from scratch with new customers making enquiries daily. The customer base can vary from farmers, builders, electricians, plumbers, roofers, garages, factories, public households and local authorities.

“We have no minimum or maximum quantities of waste materials which we can manage, so whatever our customer’s waste management needs are, Redpath Recycling can provide a solution.

“We provide a high level of service offering free skips for scrap metal on request. Redpath Recycling will collect scrap metal, weigh metal over public weighbridge and pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

“During our first year we have seen the business grow rapidly which has resulted in moving to a larger location and ensuring we sustain our commitment to SEPA. Our new location is the next stage of our five year plan which will see the business reside in a fully bespoke recycling plant operation complete with weighbridge, material handling machine and reclamation yard.

“We would like to thank all our customers throughout our first year and welcome all new customers.

“Scrap the rest and get the best!”
