Granted they haven’t had the American tour which they welcomed 2010 in with but their schedule has been just as packed over this side of the Atlantic in the first few months of the year.
After tasting success in Berwick Battle of the Bands nearly two years ago now, the five piece said that recording an album was their main musical goal and following countless gigs in England, Scotland and of course America, at venues such as the 02 Academy, Newcastle and The Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh, the band are heading into the studios of Tweedmouth-based PFl Audio to do exactly that.
But that’s not before they take to the stage in an event with a prize that really is the stuff that dreams are made of.
After submitting a few demos, Warehouse Announcement were hand-picked to play in the second semi-final of a competition at Edinburgh’s Hard Rock Cafe.
And with a slot on the bill at this year’s Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park up for grabs, the lads are hoping to do the business in the capital.
By the time you read this they will have already performed and most probably know their fate and guitarist Scott Courtney said it was great to even be asked to play at such a well known venue.
“We might well be punching above our weight but we want to go up there and enjoy the experience,” he commented.
“To get chosen on demos alone is really good and the prize that’s at stake is absolutely amazing.”
Fingers crossed that the band got some good news last night and are headed into the final which is due to take place this evening.
As well as hopefully wowing the crowds in Edinburgh, Warehouse have got a loyal following back home too, who all eager to get a copy of their debut album.
And they shouldn’t have to wait too much longer as the band are due go into the studio this weekend to work on the as yet unititled LP.
“All of our flagship songs like ‘Sound of Drums’, ‘Keep on Moving’ and ‘Blind We Collide’ will all be on there as well as some newer stuff,” Scott assured.
Aside from recording the album and “if we haven’t killed each other in the studio,” Scott added, Warehouse Announcement will be performing alongside Espionage of the Loc at Berwick High School tomorrow night, Friday March 11; unplugged at The Barrels on Friday, March 18 and at a testimonial night for Berwick speedway hero Adrian Rymel on Friday, March 25 at the Red Lion, Castlegate, where they will share the bill with Brendan Porteous, The Woodsmen and a special guest.
