Time to get arty with SBC at Eyemouth Extravaganza

A JAM packed programme of events from the Arts Development Team at Scottish Borders Council has now begun and is running until August 13.

Youngsters from the age of five can now book their place on a variety of courses in art, circus skills, music, dance, drama, outdoor games, song and stories with plenty going on in Berwickshire, costing as little as £2.

On Monday July 11, Tuesday, July 12, Thursday, July 14 and Friday, July 15 there is an Art Extravaganza at Eyemouth Community Centre from 10am-12.30pm.

SBC’s executive member for culture, sport and community learning, Councillor Graham Garvie explained: “This is a fantastic programme with lots of opportunities to work with professionals and develop skills in art, drama, dance, song or music.

“Our arts development team does a brilliant job putting this programme together.

“All of the activities are great fun and it is always really popular - so don’t miss out and book your places now.”

As part of the programme, there is also the opportunity to apply to take part in a week-long intensive Leadership Award course in either dance or drama at Earlston High School.

This course provides applicants with the chance to develop their theoretical knowledge and leadership skills in dance or drama.
