POpulaR folk act Real Time will entertain audiences on both sides of the border in a few weeks time with performances at Coldingham Hall and Etal Village Hall.
Real Time were formed in 2002 by Judy Dinning and Kenny Speirs. Judy is well known in the folk scene, particularly for her many years as a member of Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies and as a member of the all female band Lucky Bags.
Her reputation as one of the finest singers to have come from the North East has taken her all over the world, and having lived all her life on a farm near Hexham many of her songs are steeped in her Northumberland roots.
Kenny Speirs comes from Denholm in the Scottish Borders, and is best known as a founder member of the John Wright Band. Over a decade of touring with that band he became recognised as one of the finest guitar accompanists around, and has now developed a particularly close musical relationship with Judy that brings out the best in her outstanding singing.
Kenny and keyboard player Tommy Roseburgh have known each other since schooldays together in Galashiels. Tommy has been a full time musician ever since, and is director of the well respected Big Sky Studios which is now located in his hotel, The Gordon Arms, in the Yarrow Valley.
Real Time have been touring all over the UK and Europe for the past 10 years and will be joined for their Etal and Coldingham shows by Shona Mooney, a member of the the internationally acclaimed all-female band The Shee.
