Just as the real thing are about to embark on a UK tour of their own, a Bon Jovi tribute act are arriving in Berwick on Saturday determined to rock.

Although they haven’t been going quite as long as Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates, The Bon Jovi Experience are no strangers to life on the road, having played venues right across the globe.

Lead singer Tony Pearce’s resemblance to Jon is truly uncanny so its no surprise they are the only Bon Jovi tribute to have shared the stage with the man himself.

Their American counterparts hit the headlines last week as guitarist Richie Sambora walked out as they prepare for their jaunt but Tony was happy to report that all was rosy in the Bon Jovi Experience camp.

“I don’t think him leaving is too much of a blow to the band but having spoke to a number of our followers on facebook and twitter it definitely is for the fans.

“Our Richie is still very much here and we’ve got a packed schedule so it’s just as well!

“We’ve changed the set around a bit since we were last in Berwick. It wouldn’t be right for us to do too many songs from Bon Jovi’s new album but we have included the single ‘Because We Can’.”

Tony said that paying tribute to such a long-running band like Bon Jovi had both its pros and cone.

“There is a lot of to-ing and fro-ing over which songs to include in our set and which to leave out.

“Whenever we do a show we always ask the audience if they’re old school or new school and 99.99 per cent they’re long-standing Bon Jovi fans who know their stuff.

“So for us to leave the likes of ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’, ‘Bed of Roses’ and ‘Always’ out would be criminal.”

The Bon Jovi Experience have been going for 20 years now but Tony said they never have been an act that rest on their laurels and they never will be.

“To keep the title the world’s best Bon Jovi tribute act we’ve got to stay ahead of the game when it comes to our sound and our look.

“A long time ago in a galaxy far away I had long permed hair just like Jon- thank god he cut it short; it takes a lot less hairspray for a start!“Everyone in the band plays their part in keeping us as up to date as possible.”
