Jane Keenan’s dancers put their best foot forward last weekend as they joined forces with a real ballet aficionado for the launch of the Berwick Ballet Initiative.

Richard Slaughter, artistic director of the new initiative, arrived in town for the launch at St Cuthbert’s Parish Centre, Walkergate on Saturday morning.

Jane’s dancers were decked out in costumes for ballet ‘The Naughty Farm Girl’ which is the piece the initiative will concern itself with.

Richard will visit six local schools throughout July to introduce youngsters to the art of ballet which will lead to two performances of ‘The Naughty Farm Girl’ at The Maltings on November 1.

Berwick Ballet Initiative is grateful to the Simpson McCreath Trust for their support.
