Music fans can buy Phamie Gow’s latest album with a cup of coffee following a deal between the Berwickshire musician and Caffe Nero.

The agreement means Gow’s new album, ‘Softly Spoken’, is now on sale in Caffe Nero’s 650 shops nationwide.

Her songs are already played over Caffe Nero’s in-store radio system, but this deal with give her more exposure.

The multi-instrumentalist from Westruther has been popular in Caffe Nero across the UK for some time. “I have been number one most played artist in Caffe Nero for over a year now,” she explained.

Her eighth album is already becoming a favourite of Classic FM listeners, with songs being played on various shows on the network.

“When I spoke to Classic FM about working together on a project they suggested that we amalgamated with another body/business.

“I think with the support of Caffe Nero, O2 Priority Moments and Classic FM will definitely help expose my music to a wider audience.

“I guess if people like this album, they may like my previous ones too.”

‘Softly Spoken’ is a compilation of both old and new compositions. Gow hopes listeners will be able to detect a gradual change of direction.

“I think with the newer compositions, such as ‘Purple Ribbon’, you will be able to hear a progression and evolution in my writing,” she continued.

“At least, that was my intention. To come out of my harmonic and melodic comfort zone a little but still keeping the listener interested with a strong melody and array of sounds and harmonies that are accessible.”

As if inking a deal with one of the UK’s busiest coffee houses wasn’t exciting enough, Gow’s year so far has thrown up plenty more highlights, including another appearance in musical mecca Carnegie Hall in New York.

“The year 2013 has been pretty awesome so far,” Gow enthused.

“The year started off by singing in the choir for Mahler’s Symphony no 8 in The Carnegie Hall, NYC, and with the recording of the new tracks for the album in Metropolis Studios in London, a new music video and website.

“There is always lots to do. I have spent a lot of time out in NYC, but also around Europe so don’t seem to be able to sit still for very long.

“Its a very exciting time for me just now as I’m being signed with a NYC manager, who will hopefully help elevate my career to the next level.”
