Allanton-based Allanbank Arts opened its doors recently to great acclaim.
Normally open for a diverse range of art courses, such as watercolour painting, ceramic sculpture and ‘Art For The Insecure and Nervous’, it’s first annual Open Exhibition was a resounding success attracting both professional and amateur artists from the whole of the Borders and beyond.
‘Paper Shoes’ by Isabell Buenz (pictured) was one of the mostpopular exhibits.
Isabell will be teaching a Paper and Book Art course at Allanbank Arts soon where you can learn to make these and altered book sculptures.
“I overheard a few people say that this was the best exhibition they have seen anywhere for a while, and I certainly am very proud of the wealth of creativity we have here on our doorstep.” said Gill Walton who runs the centre with Liz Hardy.
