Commonwealth Ceilidh in Duns

Berwickshire will join the rest of Scotland by getting into the Commonwealth Games spirit with a special ceilidh at Duns Volunteer Hall on Saturday, June 21.

The events across Scotland have been jointly arranged by the Get Scotland Dancing campaign and the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and live music at Duns will be provided by Gordon Brown from Kelso.

All dances will be called and demonstrated before hand so you don’t have to know the routines in advance.

However, if you do want to get a bit of a feel for the dances visit www.rscds.org to watch videos of all the routines.

Three new dances. with links to the Commonwealth, have been devised for the nationwide event and will be on the programme with a host of old favourites.

Young country dancers from Duns will also be entertaining.

Free entry. 7.30pm start.
