Berwickshire attractions join Scotland’s Festival of Museums

Paxton House and Eyemouth Museum are preparing to take part in Scotland’s annual Festival of Museums, a nationwide programme of cultural events taking place from May 15-17.

At a Georgian themed family day at Paxton House visitors can explore the regal surroundings and try on Regency bonnets and coats. The ‘The French Connection’ at Eyemouth Museum, includes a series of live re-enactments to entertain guests and demonstrate what life was like for 16th century French soldiers in Eyemouth.

The Festival is run by Museum Galleries Scotland. The Georgian costume event at Paxton House is on Saturday, May 16, 10.30am–4.30pm with the ‘Underneath Fashion’ event on the same day between 2–3pm. Eyemouth Museum hosts ‘The French Connection’ on Saturday, May 16, from 11am–4pm and Sunday, May 17, from 12noon-4pm.
