Top of the bill at this year’s Coldingham gala and country fayre is a professional stuntman who has attracted 16 million hits on Youtube and appeared on Britain’s Got Talent.
Little Firewater, whose act includes knife throwing, bed of nails, fire eating and axe throwing, is just one of the many reasons you should get along to this year’s event which is happening on Saturday, July 20, from noon to 5pm. The act is certainly a hit with audiences - just but don’t try it at home!
There will also be classic cars, a Chis Wish magic show and facepainting for the children, live music, a car boot sale, stocks, a beer tent, tea and cakes, tombola and fun fair.
Classic cars have been a feature of the fayre for the past five years and this year the Volvo car driven by Roger Moore in the 1960’s television series ‘The Saint’ is expected to be on display.
This arts, crafts and music event has been a popular addition to Berwickshire’s summer programme of events, attracting between 1500 to 2000 each year, and organisers donate money back into local groups and charities for the community.
“For the last three years we have been very fortunate with the weather and it has stayed dry,” said one of the organisers, Bob Wortley.
So here’s hoping their luck holds out for this year’s event on Saturday.
Recommendations on the gala Facebook page give an idea of what an entertaining day out Coldingham gala is and they include one from Mel Dougary, who said earlier this year: “A brilliant day had by the whole family last year. Hopefully same this year.” And Ewan Mutch adds: “Good family fun day out...”
